Green brings to his new post more than 25 years of gaming industry experience including 17 years in senior management at entertainment venues and vacation destinations across the globe. A native of Leicester, England, Green's gaming industry experience includes assignments in North America and the Caribbean, as well as Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines. Green, 48, worked most recently as Vice President of Casino Operations at Norwegian Cruise Lines. Green holds a Master of Science in Sociology of Sport & Sports Management, from the University of Leicester, UK. He is married and has two children.

As General Manager, Green will be responsible for all aspects of the SunCruz I, including gaming, food & beverage, marketing, compliance, finance, recruitment, training, guest services, policies and procedures, audit, analysis and investigations.

New Jersey native Sue Mooney has lived in the keys for nearly a decade and has worked in management for retail giant Pier 1 Imports, the Sandal Factory and the Sundiver Station. The theme shifted from swinging to marching as proceeds from the Golf Fore Education charity tournament were recently presented to North Myrtle Beach High School.

The tournament was held in February at Long Bay Golf Club and presented by SunCruz Myrtle Beach and the Golf Gurus of Myrtle Beach. In total, the tournament raised $6,000 for the school, including over $3,000 to send the school's marching band to perform at Disney World.

SUNCRUZ GIVES PALM BAY FIREFIGHTERS THEIR JUST DESSERTS

SunCruzPort Canaveral sweetened the day of Palm Bay firefighters Friday by deliveringa 4-foot-by-4-foot sheet cake and an equally large card signed by hundreds ofgrateful employees and passengers of the casino vessel.

The card and sweet treat were delivered to the Palm Bay Fire Department by SunCruzPort Canaveral General Manager Cheryl Lindsey and Gary Inks, corporate Vice Presidentof Sales and Marketing. The thank-you gift was the second stage of a week-longeffort to assist the firefighters and victims of the Palm Bay wildfires.

On Monday, the SunCruz team delivered bottled water, Red Bull, granola bars,toothpaste and other necessities. One of the ship’s shuttle buses carriedthe items to Palm Bay, where they were given to the disaster relief group fromFirst Baptist Church of Palm Bay for use by people displaced by the fires.

The bus also carried a load of T-shirts, which the firefighters had requested.Fresh shirts are a constant need for firefighters working the fire line, dueto smoke and the physical exertion of quenching the fire.

Sharks and Card Sharks Converge in Key Largo

Another tropical day closes in Key Largo, the paradise hailed by countless songs, postcards and photographs. Dipping below the horizon, the sun paints the sky pink and orange, transforming the South Florida sea into an ocean of glittering diamonds.

And as the light begins to fade and the cawing of tropical birds disappears into the coming night, two types of curious—and potentially dangerous—creatures emerge somewhere offshore. They are Sharks, cold-blooded predators dedicated to devouring schools of fish with the aid of powerful fins, and Card Sharks, cold-blooded card players dedicated to devouring opponents' poker chips with the aid of powerful hands.

Both can be seen from the deck of the SunCruz I casino ship.

Blacktip reef sharks lurk in and around Key Largo's coral reefs, feeding on fish and mollusks. They are particularly active at dusk—just in time for SunCruz guests to enjoy spotting them from the ship during the outbound evening cruise.

Card sharks, on the other hand, are found on the ship's gaming deck, playing live poker and blackjack, feeding on complementary appetizers and free drinks and enjoying regular tournaments, parties and special events. A weekly Card Sharks Monday gives bonus payoffs to this often misunderstood species.
